The Winston-Salem Symphony is a regional, per-service orchestra. The current Principal rate will be $123.00/service with a targeted minimum of 58 services offered in the 2025/2026 performing season.

Use of a rotary trumpet is not required for the audition, but the successful candidate should be proficient on such.

Except where noted above, the Winston-Salem Symphony does not provide preparatory copies of audition excerpts. Parts for all of the above excerpts can be purchased, or can also be downloaded from the International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) at www.imslp.org.

Please send a one-page résumé and a $25.00 Application Fee (refunded at the audition) by check made payable to Winston-Salem Symphony.
